Calling all T-Mobile customers

Back with a SERIOUS issue going on. I have a 3 week old 8120 (purchased the phone on May 6, 2008) and as of Monday around 3:30 PM Houston, TX time, I have been having sporadic signal connection including WiFi. I have to turn Wireless Connections off and back on to be able to send and receive calls, emails, PINS and texts. The Network Status indicators on my phone remain yellow until I reset them. Currently my phone flips back and forth between GPRS, EDGE, uma and UMA (with the WiFi icon).

The same thing with my backup 8100. I was told that it would be repaired but no time of resolution has been given.

I have wiped and restored the 8120, done numerous battery pulls, used SoftReset, etc on BOTH units, tried different SIM cards and NOTHING is working.

Hi Erica, sorry you are still having problems, If 2 Phones are doing it in the same area, then it is the Network to be sure. From what you said yesterday, I have to assume it is the tower that you are on localy. I hope it gets fixed soon. I know it is hard when the system is down. Hang in there! we don't want to lose you!

Erica,

Here is something you might try....as pda said it could be a tower issue - this has worked for me in the past - call TMO and ask them to remove your device from the system, and then add you back. Sometimes that will get you onto a different tower...

Good luck and let us know if you find a solution.

Mike - been with TMO for about 6 years. I have stuck with them because they have the best customer service that I have seen. They have fixed anything that I have found wrong with my billing, prorated plans when I have switched them and have been nothing but awesome when I roll into the store. My dog ate the set of headphones that came with my curve, they gave me a new set. When I wanted to switch phones they gave me the best possible price. At times I get bad reception or dropped calls but that's only when I am out in the sticks. I have never really had a bad experience with them. I transfered my wife's plan over to TMO and she has also been happy with them. We have the 8320 and the 8100.

My work has no reception at all. I called and asked what can be done. They released and re-registered my device and nothing happened. I was told that a ticket would be created and the tech side would get involved I was also encouraged to get more people to call in. Volume counts! At least that's what I was told. Enough complaints and it will get fixed. This is coming from tmobile. I thought I would share. Good luck

As a company I switched us over from At&t/Cingular/At&t about 2-3 years ago. Cingular was pushing us to buy all new phones to work with their network (from the old At&t). We have about 50 cell phones and T-Mobile was able to get us Blackberry's at 1/3 the price of At&t, BES Enterprise Edition at half of anyone else as well as free phones for our users (including all of the accessories for free).

I like their commitment to customer service and the phones they offer. When we first switched over we had terrible reception in our building and they installed a GPRS antenna for free. Cingular kept telling me they would try to improve reception but were never able to help. We are a nuclear pharmacy and have tons of lead in our building, so external antennas are not the solution. We have been very pleased overall with the level of service and features they have offered us.

The customer service reps have offered to look at our plan and try to save us money. At one point we were able to save $500 a month by reducing our plan from the Enterprise 50 to the Enterprise 35 since we were not using nearly that many minutes. I was impressed that a first level CS rep was concerned enough to take the time and do that for us.

i switched to tmo from at-t/cingular when i got tired of paying at-t three times what my bill was supposed to be and still getting crap customer service.
since switching i would never switch back as long as t-mo keeps its head right and keeps the customer as #1

Crystal in Sioux Falls, SD... no, where I live isn't T-Mo home coverage area, so my service at home isn't so great, but I got service with T-Mo in '05 when I was in Minneapolis, MN.

I'm with T-Mo cause they had amazing service where I lived... its not even that bad out here in SD where they don't have home towers, but I stuck with em cause they have great plan rates & keep up on the newest phones most of the time.

got my Tmo service back in 2003 and in Sams Club in GA. Now i live here in Anaheim Ca. and i dont have any plan on changing my service. Why? cause they been good to me..any problems i have with them (service or phone) they always resolve it to my satisfaction....They signed me up even my credit is low...lol...cheap, Never have a bad connection except right now in my new apartment (1 bar or none at all) then out of nowhere 2 days ago, till now I got 5 bars!! and i received an email today stating that they have a new towers in my area.. Way to go TMO!!
