CALLING ALL CERTIFIED MECHANICS...PLEASE!?

Ok ya'll (yes, I'm from Louisiana-lol) My car has been giving me the most CRAP and I'm getting so tired of it. It's been running hot for about 2 months now! The following things have been changed by a certified mechanic and I watched him do it with my own two eyes:

1. Radiator hose
2. thermostat
3. oil
4. belt
5. water pump
6. fan sensor

All of these things have been changed on my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue and the @$$#@%# thing keeps getting hot! I'm at a lost...what could possibly be causing it to still run hot after all of those things have been changed?! I took it to an auto specialist to get a diagnostic test ran on it and they told me that those tests are only for reading problems within the engine itself and the engine's fine; it's a V6 if that helps anything. Ya'll please help me b/c it sounds like people are giving up on me, surely there has to be a reasonable explanation as to why it's still running so hot.

And no, I can't afford to buy another car......

Yes it does get hot whether idle or riding...and it doesn't take long either. I don't put any "coolant" b/c there's a tiny, tiny, leak in the coolant container but the mechanic says that it still shouldn't run hot like that. I've been putting h2o b/c I don't want to keep wasting money on coolant if it doesn't stay in the reservoir.

I don't have a normal radiator cap, I have to like unscrew this whole "thing" to even get to the radiator. It's under something...it's not like on "normal" cars....

I DO know that all of the parts that were changed were not far from NEEDING to be changed anyway so I don't feel like I've wasted any money.
 
could be a head gasket,clogged radiator,fan clutch need more info on when it overheats
 
Take it to a radiator shop and have that radiator flow-tested and also have them check the radiator fan motor, the radiator cooling fan switch, and the radiator cooling fan motor relay for proper operation.
 
does it overheat even when it just idles? does it overheat when going on the freeway? or both? if it overheats when its just sitting there the problem could be the radiator, it could be clogged up and it would cause overheating in both highway and idle. another thing your coolant temperature sensor could be broken and what that does is if the car gets too hot, itll add more fuel to it so it stays cooler. has your mileage gone down? if so then i would be lead to believe its the coolant temperature sensor.
 
as everything appears to be ok try running it without the thermostat, still overheating, sounds like a blockage, try reverse flushing the system with a hose, you will then see if there is a blockage somewhere, probably the radiator.

just a few ways of checking further
 
The Gage can lie to you have him check it with a mechanical Gage. A gage can go bad just as easy as any thing else in the car.
 
Check inside the radiator while the car is idling at a reasonably fast idle, if there are bubbles then you have a blown head gasket. sometimes you can have a cracked cylinder.. some times if the ignition timing is out it can lead to overheating. an easy way to see if the heat sensor is working is to put in in a glass of hot water, it should show on the temp indicator.. hope this helps.

Get some putty and seal up the hole in the coolant tank. you can use normal water until you have sorted the problem out. I would check the cyl head gasket it looks like it overheated at a stage and has blown the gasket
 
sounds to me like you have an air pocket in the system.when the car is cool remove the radiator cap,start the car and turn on the heater with the fan on high,let it run till it gets hot and see if you see any air bubbles coming from the radiator.squeeze the upper radiator hose a couple of times while its running,this should eliminate all air from the system.if this does not work you more than likely have a bad head gasket.
