Call of Duty World at War (PC) help?

I've downloaded some of the multiplayer patches, but how do I use them? I don't even know how to access them after downloading them. And also, why can't I usually find a multiplayer server through the Internet? How can I fix that? My solo campaign lags, too, so is there a way to fix that, and if so how?

no there is no way to fix the lag cuz i also have the game and the multiplayer server is for system link cuz no one plays that game on the computer and there is on way to fix lag
