As many of you probably already heard how much Black Ops has done to keep the new customers happy while making the fans hate it.
It would be very disrespectful to compare Black Ops to Modern Warfare 2 since MW2 has been more successful in my opinion. Heres why:
MW2 pissed off quite a few new players with the quick-scope, but lets face it, its not that big of a deal when you can spray your AK-47, and your UMP Silenced. Chances are you will kill the quick-scope with spray-and-pray before they hit you.
Second the games perks are balanced compared to Black Ops. Why? In MW2 you are only allowed to use either Scavenger or Slight of Hand but not both at the same time. The reason is that it makes players that love to spray get to reload faster after each 50 bullets spray while resupplying their ammo almost infinitely, and that wouldn't be fun. In Black Ops, you definately see that a lot. Oh, and plus marathon, how sweet is life! (sarcasm).
Third, MW2 looks and sounds incredible. When I hear a AC130 flying over my head raining down endless supply of missles it sounds very intimidating. But somehow Treyarch think its better to tone the Chopper Gunners to sound life my electric pencil sharpener.
Fourth, the blood on the screen, I know its minor, but I do like it when it comes on. Compare to MW2, Black Ops blood screen looks like the screen just turn red. I can hardily notice it sometimes as I'm getting shot by a sniper from across the screen, but in MW2 the screen is actually filled with blood, and it shakes and makes it blurry. It makes you feel as you actually got shot. I know its a minor issue, but I do like added realism that prevents me from keep aiming down my sight and shoot a full mag while I'm continuously getting shot.
Five, probably the biggest issue for us fans that casually plays the game with a just-enough PC. The first day I've got MW2, I had absolutely no problem running on my Windows 7, ATI Premium Graphics, 4G ram, etc. Its enough to run MW2 on high setting with 1600x900 without a single lag. But when I got Black Ops on the first day, I was hoping for a patch already. The best way to fix the lag is turn down all settings and remove the mouse acceleration, which is a lot of work to do to play a game. I don't know why Treyarch wouldn't release a demo first (maybe trying to keep the hype), but they should of done it. They would of find the mistake early on and fix the problem before it frustrates the millions of peoples that bought the game.
Lastly, about 15,000+ peoples play actively and MW2 still has 8,000+ playing in the morning and 4,000+ playing at night. Black Ops does exceed MW2 in this category, but about 1/3 are host with an empty game room, or 1-3 players. But the dedicate server definately works better than matchmaking.
It all really comes down to your opinions, I don't think its that great to play Black Ops because its definately more spraying and camping with big maps and random spawns behind your back. And I still do enjoy MW2 much better simply because of the balanced perk. But Black Ops nailed it on the Killstreaks, except some. Overall I just wished the maps could be a lot organized, it just seems to random because of the spawning problems too.
