Call Forwarding not working?

Has anyone had any luck with the call forwarding feature? Cricked customer service told me to dial *72xxxxxxxxxx but I just get a message telling me its not available... I have tried in the Houston and Austin markets... Can anyone confirm?
 
does your account have call forwarding? it is only included on the $50 plan, and available as an add on feature on all other plans. also you can only forward you calls to a local nuraber.
 
I'm in the Austin market and CF works just fine for me -- I use it often. I'd call customer service and let them know that it isn't working for you and have them check your account. It's not unheard of to not actually have the features included in your plan actually turned on.
 
Well, I called customer service 611 and they told me that I DO have it on my plan and that the call forwarding feature wasn't working in the houston and austin market. Wow, I love talking to cricket customer service... Well, I guess Ill give them a few more days and see if anything starts working...

Does anyone know if a "local"nuraber is just a nuraber with the same area code as my cricket phone? Because Im in houston and there are several "local" area codes here. The message that I get is: We are sorry, the use of this feature is not available at this time.
 
the teir 1 call center for customer service is horible, they often have no idea what is going on market to market. you need to go into a store. you'll have much better luck with even a standard dealer.

as far as local nuraber... local nurabers are any nurabers based out of the physical area covered by your cricket market. look at the green parts of the map and that is considered local. it has nothing to do with area code.
 
i was mistaken before. it seems that the nuraber you are forwarding to must have the same area code as your phone nuraber. I think they are trying to fix this as there are more and more markets with more than one area code now.
 
I stopped by the cricket store in town here and talked to them about forwarding... They said it works just fine for them, but no luck on my side once again. I tried calling customer service again, and didnt get anywhere. I guess Ill just wait it out, hopefully its just a bug in their system...
 
Another note about call forwarding is that Cricket only offers one type -- the one that immediate routes to another line (*72). There is no 'forward if no answer' or 'forward if busy'. I was trying to use a third party voicemail system which all require you to set up call forwarding to the service nuraber and wasn't able to do it. Support informed me that they do not offer that feature.
 
Nope, Im just trying to forward to any nuraber I possibly can... As far as everyone knows, this shouldnt be an issue on my hanRABet, should it? I would imagine that it would completely be on Crickets side. I have visited a cricket store in houston (home market) and also visited one in Austin. Both could not find any problems and said it should work fine... Still nothing.
