I was late on my payment this month and my phone was off for a couple of days i called 611 and they made a bridge payment and i went in and payed my bill the same day in full. I can receieve calls fine, text, use mms and wap but when i try to make a call out it says "CALL FAILED PLEASE!!! TRY AGAIN"
I have been unable to make phone calls out for the past week and i have gotten the same message everytime even when trying to call 611 *228 411 or any nuraber. I have a flashed env vx9900 working until i didnt make a payment. I called 1800 cricket and the rep refreshed my service but that didnt work either? What should i do?

well i work @ cricket and you have no idea how many people call me to do esn changes over to a flashed phone, and then call back all pissed off when *228 didnt work and they dont know how to manually program it. These people arent flashing the phones themselves though, so i dunno. you could be right, but from my experience it seems like it doesnt work often.

The reason the phone's are programming ota is probably because whoever flashed their phones didn't change the SPC to 0's or 3's.

I haven't had a problem with a flashed phone *228ing either when the SPC's are 0's or 3's. Anything else and they fail.

i didn't ask if it was successful.. i just asked if it connects to the cricket IVR. that helps to diagnose the problem.

i have yet to encounter a phone that won't *228 (except some sprint phones that use *2 instead) when they have been properly flashed. there is some issue with certain lg's that will *228 at first then stop working for some reason after a few times.

After I installed a rom recently my SPC got changed from all zeros to a multi numeral code and *228 would not work. It was giving me fits, but yes as was pointed out just manually program and upload the PRL you need and it will work fine.

Call and double check your ESN vs what Cricket has in the system. We've seen ESNs "magically change" after a phone was Hotlined, or any other account changes. If they have the wrong one, have them change it back to the correct one. Doesn't happen a lot, but it has happened.

Good luck!

I just re-read your original post and I think I need more info to correctly diagnose this:

Does the "Call Failed" error show on the screen when you try to make a call or do you hear an error message in the earpiece?

If it's an error on the screen then it's a problem with the phone, not your account, and all the advice I gave you in the previous post is not going to fix it.

make sure your nam.setting is correct try put a new prl on the phone and it is true if your account was suspended because of late payment when reactivated it goes back to the esn u started with I ran in to this problem last week jus check to make sure mdn min prl on phone is correct and meid dec in there system match
