California High School Proficiency Exit Exam?

I am a Sophmore in High school right now. This year my grades have gotten really bad. I plan on going to community high school next year then going back to regular high school senior year or sooner to graduate. Then I plan to go to community college for 2 years and then go to a university for the next two years. However, The CHSPE sounds really appealing but i'm not exactly sure on if it will benefit me or hurt me in the long run. It would be great to take the exam this june and then be done with high school and enroll in community college for the fall then spend the next two years completing community college instead of completing high school. That way when I turn 18 I will be able to move out and go to a university and get my life started quicker. So my questions are: will community college accept me if I failed my sophmore year of high school when I have passed the CHSPE? When it comes time to apply to 4 year colleges will they accept me if I take this course of action? Will they want to know my high school grades?
 
You need to be 21 to apply, they don't investigate your high school grades just your colege GPA.
I recommend you get a job in store security & get a degree in criminology.
Establish good credit & provide good references.
