Hi, I just wanted to verify that my answers were correct for the following three part question:
During the first 50 seconds of a rocket's flight, the rocket is propelled straight up, so that in t seconds its height s is s(t) = (t^3)/(sqrt(10))
a) How high does the rocket travel in 50 seconds? My answer: substituting t for 50, I get 39528.47 feet.
b) What is the average velocity of ther rocket during the first 50 seconds?
I assume the interval is [0, 50] and plugging into the formula for avg. velocity, I get 790.57 ft/s
c) What is the average velocity of the rocket during the first 125 feet?
I make s(t) = 125 and solve for t, then plug into the average velocity and I get 17.03 ft/s
