Hi all....I am soooo excited about a calcium product I was unaware of until my ortho. suggested we buy liquid calcium. My husband found the liquid calcium with vit. D3 at our grocery store....Wellesse is the maker...
I don't know if your Drs. make you take calcium after fusion surgery, but mine does. I had a revision surgery for my SI joint surgery on 12/10...and have had a major problem with the calcium....the size of the pills as well as the constipation factor...and I HAVE to take these pills...but I have been skipping them because of all of the problems they are causing in my life....now I will be faithful to my calcium regime... We didn't even know a liquid existed...anyone else use this, if possible, let me know how it works for you.
Hope this info. helps someone...

Hi Sage!

How are you doing? How's your pain?

I never heard of liquid calcium (except milk). Is it supposed to absorb better? I just take the chewables. That works best for me 'cause I take one as soon as I sit up in the morning and the other right before bed. Then I won't be taking too much at once, since I eat a lot of cheese and other dairy. I keep them on my nightstand with my other meRAB.

My doctor was concerned that I would get kidney stones by taking too much at once, but I do still need to take it. Just spread out through the day.

I hope you're healing and feeling better.

Blessings,
Emily

Thanks for asking Emily...I am doing better....the pain is setteling down...just that deep bone ache...and some from the incisions still...but nothing like it was...The oxycodone takes care of it....thank goodness. My Dr. wants me to have lots of calcium....like 1500 mg. a day....to make sure I fuse... BUT I had such problems with the calcium...and when I mentioned it during our converation last Fri. the Dr. suggested I get the liquid...okkkkkk.... My husband found it at Publix grocery store...but other places have it as well, I just never saw it before, and if it eliminates the constipation factor...well, that will be a miracle... I am hoping this will be the answer for the need on the additional calcium....and hope that it helps me fuse this time. We all say our prayers and hope for the best...in the meantime...I am in bed...or once in a while sitting at the puter!! NO walking...it has already been 6 weeks...and another 6 to go before I go for my CT scan...and visit to the ortho. Dr. Hope this helps those who can't swallow the large calcium tablets...
How are you doing??? I am sending a little hug and prayer to you...take care.

There are actually many branRAB of liquid calcium to choose from. Innovative Natural is a good source as well.

we are just discovering that calcium comes in liquid form!!!! Nice to hear that there are many branRAB....you just never know... We have found only one brand so far....if this one doesn't work out...well we will be investigating others!!!
Have you taken the liquid calcium? Is it as effective as the nasty huge tablets? Is it less constipating....(yeah, I know not a great subject, but unfortunately in the world of backs....and meRAB., and surgery for backs, this subject just appears...) ?

Thanks for the info.
