along with this he plans to get rid of income tax and the IRS
@Phil: I thought so too, but apparently Bush tried to do the same thing until he found out to maintain the status quo he'd have to raise the Nat Tax to 34% on everything and not 23...after that he just said fck it

I've been a fan of the flat tax for a LONG time. It's a lot more difficult for people to dodge a consumption (sales) tax, it's a lot less complex. The IRS is way out of control, too.

It's called fair tax. Getting rid of the IRS would save trillions over the next 20 years.. Americans spend nearly 56 billion a year to file. Not to mention that a fair tax would allow one to save money and to make money without penalties.. It's a good idea. Turn the IRS into fraud waste and abuse investigators and let them pry into the government. Let these people feed off themselves.

I havent read much about Cain yet, but if that is his plan.. Im for that. I don't like the sound of 24%. But if that is the number then that is fine with me..

Getting rid of the IRS is a good thing, a consumption tax is a good thing.

23% sounds high but if it replaces medicare/caid pay roll, and corporate taxes it sounds fair to me
As well eliminating a very expensive branch of government.
