Anyone else listen to them? They're probably one of the most unique banRAB to debut in the past year and I think they would appeal to anyone who likes both newer or older music.

Their single "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" has been getting some publicity lately (BorderlanRAB trailer/opening movie and some movie trailer as well), but their other stuff is really just as good.

Discuss.

I might be in the minority by saying there were songs I liked more than Aint No Rest For The Wicked on their album.

Actually, the first couple times I heard that song, I didn't like it very much. It just grew on me.

i actually like them quite a bit from "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked", but i gotta hear more of them before i can decide whether i like them or not.

still, what i've heard so far i've liked. :thurab:

Eh, its their first album. A few bits were pretty dull but I really liked some of the hooks and I'm half expecting them to make something that really impresses me.
PS: When you listen to this, turn the volume up all the way.

"Drones in the Valley" is orgasmic. And they're on a videogame commercial. Thats okay with me, they're good enough for me to look past that.

I like Ain't No Rest For The Wicked, but I've not really heard/liked anything else of theirs, but I haven't given it much time to listen.

Should really try and listen to the album and try and find some other tracks I really like.

I'll be the first to admit that video games are a wasteland of ideas, but what's so wrong with having your song on a video game commercial? Some can be quite good. Remeraber that 'Mad World' themed Gears of War commercial?

Nothing, they actually pick quite good songs about forty percent of the time. And iPod commercials usually have catchy tunage too. Just the regular notion that selling out=bad.

These guys have been getting shoved down my throat lately.

I like them as a live band, but from what I've heard on their recordings it's really dull. The only other thing that makes me cringe is the vocalist's antics on stage. Other than that, I think they're a fair solid band on the whole, they just need time to evolve.

I know. I can't turn on my Sirius without being beaten over the head by Cage the Elephant tracks. They're exploding. I think they've got a cool sound, actually, but I've yet to give them a serious listen...only sirius listens.

Cage the Elephant. I need to find how to get the Radio version of anrftw:(. I tried digital download.. they slipped in a normal copy:banghead: ... and all the rest or british release thingys. DRivIng me pretty nuts-o:crazy:

better not let boo boo hear that.

as for putting thier song in a commercial, i don't care either way, plenty of my favorite banRAB have commercials with their songs and that just gives me an excuse to listen to more of their stuff

Yeah man. I heard that song on Sirius months ago. Came home to watch it on Youtube like 50 times over the next week...and then sorta forgot about it. Then two or three days ago I saw heard them on that BorderlanRAB trailer and was like, "Oh hey yeah, that song!"

They definitely have a cool style. Gonna check out Drones of the Valley and I should probably get on their other stuff if you say its good as well.

I was thinking the same thing.... I got the album because I liked Back against the wall, then I seen they were also the guys who did Aint no rest for the wicked.

They do sound like White Stripes... but I am not going to hold that against them. Ill be waiting for their next album, I think they have the ability to do something that stanRAB out more.

Since I heard from this thread they sound decent live... Ill have to check them out if they come to a decent venue near me.

I heard the band perform Ain't No Rest For The Wicked live on Jools Holland and thought it was solid enough to get the album but it's boring diluted blues tinged Rock that lacked real balls. Shame as they seem a little more raw live.

tbh, after checking out a bunch of their other songs i found some stuff that was ok but really ANRFTW was what stood out to me the most. really though i have to ask where the **** is the slide guitar in the rest of their songs?!
