for a great live metal sound? I am in a metal band, and I've always been interested in getting a really specific sound live. We practice 2-3 times a week, so the tightness is all there. My guitarist plays through a V3 carvin tube head, and I play through a peavey 6505+. We try matching our tones as close as possible, but i feel the difference is our cabinets; he has a hartke 4x12 & I have a marshall 1960b.

One person who saw us live suggested that we use cabinet simulator pedals. After I heard this from him, I decided to do some research, but I still do not understand how these work....and, how they improve your sound. Someone explain this to me!!

also, I would love to know what is the best kind of cabinet simulator pedal to use for a great metal sound live!
