CA125 test result is over 1300...should I worry?

I had a CA125 test done earlier this week. I know the normal values are suppose to be less than 35. My gynocologist said my results were over 1300. Now I have to go see a gynocologic oncologist for further testing. Is this something I should worry about?
 
I think you should just get in to the oncologist as soon as you can and have the addtional testing. Don't let yourself worry until it's time to worry =)
 
Maybe. There are also other causes that can send this number high such as an acute inflammatory process in your body for one example. I would not start worrying excessively until one of your doctors gives you concrete evidence of a disease process going on and the necessary treatments which may stop or cure whatever condition they find. There needs to be more evidence than just a number before you begin worrying a lot. Some worry is normal until you find out what is going on.
