C90T With more Fuel

OK my dad just traded his S50 for a 06 C90T with 5000 miles on it for $8000. Part of the deal is that the dealer is installing a 2 1/2 gal G-Man Industries aux tank on the bike. This guy handles nothing but used bikes of all makes, he was unable to move the 3 C90's because of the limited fuel. G-Man has made him a dealer and he is letting my dad have the tank at his cost with free install. We will pick the bike up in two weeks, I'll take some pics of the mod when we get it home and post them.

Excellent! I know Gary (G-man), and his tank is a great addition to these bikes.
For those not familiar with it, the G-tank filles the area left empty under the bike when you remove the factory exhaust and collector box to fit aftermarket pipes. Totally hidden from view, the extra fuel (enough to get you an extra 90 miles) is at the very bottom of the bike where you don't even feel it.

cool, something to keep in mind.

This is better than the other kind of aux tank I've seen; it attached to the very back of the bike. A bit like strapping a small bomb on the rear bumper.

Yeah, I've seen those keg-looking ones too. They come in several sizes and fit to the luggage rack. They don;t look too bad if you hide them inside a bag on a large bike, but then you loose the storage capacity. What I don;t like about them is the extra weight up high on the bike, and the potential for fuel spraying everywhere in a wreck or if the line comes loose.
I totally dig the G-tank though, and if I ever were to buy a 1500LC or C90 I'd put one on in a heartbeat. You never even klnow it is there, except that suddenly you don't have to stop for gas every 95-100 miles anymore.

Dr. Bob, I have an '07 C90T, and that's what I don't like about it, not much fuel. I've bought from Gary a couple of times, and I agree, his tank is very nice. But, it's a lot of money for 2.5 gallons. I have a few ideas of building my own and have found a reasonable source for kevlar. My wife doesn't ride, so I don't need the back seat. Mine will replace it. I had a 6-gal tank mounted on my rack on my last bike, and it didn't bother me that much. After I got used to it, I didn't remember it was back there.

Well we picked up the C90T today, the aux fuel tank is really neat, if you didn't know where to look you wouldn't even notice it. Someone stole my daughter's digital camera so I can't post any pics right now but I will as soon as I can. I took the C90T for a ride when we got home, all I can say is that is one sweet bike, I love the M50 but those two bikes aren't even in the same class, sorry my M50 brethren but it's true.

I bought a new camera for Christmas, maybe I should send you my old one so you can post your own pics without depending on someone else?

I have been looking at the G-tank and have read the install instructions. I am curious about the filling procedure. Does it only fill thorough the 1/2 hose that is attached to the 2" normal fill hose? If so don't you have to be careful not to fill too fast? Let me know please.

Hey Vinny, yes it uses the same filler for both tanks, I didn't look at the plumbing but I assume that it fills the main tank until it runneth over into the aux.

My daughters camera was old and only a 3mp, the one I'm looking at now is 10mp. Thanks for the offer of the camera, but I'd rather have your bike.

I bought a 7 mp camera, and don't even go much past 4 mp for a lot of my pictures.

I might also recommend against anything much over 4 X magnification, you don't use it often enough.

Lastly, a middle of the road camera (for around 2 bills) will work and you won't feel bad when it's obsolete 3 - 4 years from now.

Me, I like my canon A570. The A720 model is 8 mp and 6 x zoom.

We must be related, I always gravitate to the under $300 rack. Heck the only new thing I ever bought in my life was my bike and my next one won't be I'm sure.

the technology is changing so fast, if you spend much over 2 bills you'll only regret it in a couple of years.

Computers are the same way, now. Spending much over 900, and you're wasting money.

Bikes aren't much different either, especially now, heck 4 - 5 grand and you are willing to wait and don't care about the paint (repaint is what, $500, if you know somebody) you can choose from quite a field.

btw, my personal site I like to check just to gauge the market is traderonline. They got damn near everything. Listed from all over this country.

I check EBay on a daily basis, I really want a fat boy someday but I'm not going to pay $19,000 for one. I think I can pick up a post 2000 with 15,000 to 20,000 miles on it for $10,000 or less, I will keep the M50 for running to work every day. My thinking is that the fat boy won't depreciate much more than that if well maintained.

GmanIndustries is great. For those with appropriate bikes, he also sells a GBattery that is top notch!

For the C90 variety, he sells a bully stage 3 kit also.
