C90 - Vance & Hines Longshots

For price, looks, and sound, I think I have narrowed choice down to Vance & Hines Longshots. I am sure I have read, but wanted to confirm that the Longshots would work on my 05 C90 by using the optional head pipe bolts from Gman. A local dealer where I would get the pipes says that the Longshots are not listed for the 05 C90 and I don't want to order them if there is a chance they will not work.

Would there be much of a sound difference between the Longshots and the Cobra Speedster Longs.

Last question: I also wanted to confirm that simply changing pipes would not require an FI box - since the dealer is saying it is highly recommended. I am not looking for more performance, just better sound.

Thanks

Yes they will work with the longer bolt kit. I have no personal knowledge but I have heard that the cobras are tinny. Vance and hines are goooood sounding pipes. I have jardine rumbler drags and happy. It is personal preference. Try to hear some

C90 - Vance & Hines Longshots

I just bought my 05 C90 a couple of months ago and it came with the Longshots (with with the Viper tips). They look good and sound great. I had a C50 with the Hard Kromes and didn't care for them all that much (a little too loud for me). The Longshots have a deeper throaty sound. I like that they are sort of loud when on throttle but when you let up they get quieter, that makes it nice while cruising.

I also have a K&N filter, along with the pipes and don

i put cobra dragsters on my 07 c90t. sound good cruising but i dont care for the sound when engine is pulling they do sound tinny and they crack real loud on deceleration. i also put k& n air filter in. i did this in steps to try and save some money. i first put on the pipes and noticed the pipes were getting real hot almost red at the flange s so i put pciii fuel processor in with it mapped for the pipes from the company. that took care of the lean fuel mixture. but it took away a little fuel milage. so i added the k&n air filter and had dealer remap again, now its ok fuel milage is back to 43 to 45 mpg. it also pulls alot better . but i dont like the sound of the pipes

Whatever pipes you buy, make sure they have a built in ballance pipe. Without this you will not be getting the maximum power and torque available from your bike.

No experience with either of the pipes you mention. I have HK sideburners and they can be very loud. As far as a fi controller you most likely will not need one. If you go with an open filter then yes you would need it.

Either that or go with a lollipop.
