C90 aftermarket exhaust and fuel processor

I have Boulevard C90 and want to replace the stock pipes.
I'm looking for some advice on what to buy. Here is what I'm after.

I don't like the 2 in 1 look, so 2 pipes is preferred.
I'm looking for good sound, but not too loud (don't want to wake up neighbors when I go to work in the morning :) )

Also, I assume I would need to buy a fuel processor. Which kind would be best (that would go with the recommended pipes)? Not interested in gaining more power, but don't want to loose on fuel economy.

So, what would you recommend?

If you do a pipe change it probably would not be necessary to go to a fuel processor. Now if you change to a high flow air filter in conjunction with pipes then you will most definitely need a processor.

I am running HK Sideburners. When I get on the gas they are very loud but at cruise, from what I have been told, are not too loud. I think there are only two manuf. that make 2>1. HK and Cobra. I have never heard the cobra pipes but I know they are somewhat popular.

If you do decide on a fuel processor I would highly recommend the BULLY It is by far the easiest to adjust. Their customer service rep will be the owner himself, Gary Ford. He is the guy that developed the Bully package and did the dyno for the Intruder/C90. If you go with Cobra or PCIII expect to get little or no knowledgable help.
 
My dad has Cobra pipes on his C90T, which is also what he had on his previous Suzuki Intruder. On the Intruder he switched between having the baffles in or out, which, around 90 percent of the time they were out.

On the C90T he hasn't taken them out yet, mainly because he's only had the bike for 4 days or so.

Anywho, the pipes aren't too loud, but they have an awesome sound. If you want, let me know and I can get you some sound clips/video ASAP. :)
 
I have the Cobra Speedster Longs and really like them. They sound nice, not too loud unless you twist the throttle and then they bark.

I'll also highly recommend The Bully processor :plus1: adds nice power and throttle response, its like riding a new bike.
 
I am becoming very interested in the Cobra Speedster Longs. Tried to find a clip online to hear the sound, but had no luck (found all the rest except longs :) )
If anybody knows a link, please let me know. Also, so far the best price I see is on ebay ~$500 shipping included. Anything better out there? - Thanks.
 
I just installed the Cobra Speedster Longs. WOW, what an awesome sound. I like it a lot (I just started it to hear the sound).

I ordered Cobra FI2000R fuel processor, but it's not here yet. May take couple of days to get here. Would it hurt to ride the bike without installing the processor, or should I just wait patiently :) ?
 
You should be just fine w/o the processor. I do think you would be better off with the Bully though. I had the FI2000r and cobra c/s is poor at best. If you get a lot of backfire or popping at a moderate decel then you will know you need a processor due to running too lean but then it could also be a case of improperly seated crush gaskets. You did install new gaskets right???
 
I rode the bike today to work and back. Not bad at all. Sounds excellent. Once in a while it backfired on decel, but wasn't bad at all.
FI2000r was waiting when I got home, so of course I installed it right away. Made the backfiring go away completely, got more power and it's much smoother ride, especially when shifting. Seems like I can stay in lower gears longer.
I like it much better then the original OEM setup.
The only thing now is ... what will it happen to my MPG ... Let's hope it's not much worse :)
 
You might consider modding the stock pipes as the best solution for you considering the noise concern. Some C50 members have even gutted their stock bikes and put glass packs in the holes for a great sound. Should work for the C90 too.
 
I installed the Cobra Dragster Shorts with the Power Commander III USB on my full dress C90T.

Drove it for a couple of weeks with the Euromap that came with CD. Ran rich (nobody wanted to be behind me at a stoplight) and popped a lot on deceleration. Gas mileage was around 37 MPG.

Took it to MGS Customs in Lancaster, CA. $270 very well spent getting it professionally dialed in. (These guys build some really custom bikes)

Awesome performance when I want it, and driveability when I need it. My wife and I went to Ventura Beach last weekend, I cruised at about 80 on the freeway, 40-50 thru Lake Hughes Road/San Fransquito Canyon. Got 47 MPG

On the open road and a consistent 90-100 MPH behind 30 other bikes on the way to Laughlin, I got 52 MPG

Nice mellow sound when cruising, and screams when you get on it.

If you want a copies of the MAP, let me know. I am a reasonable guy, but I paid good money and it was worth it.
