I can't tell you which to purchase, I'm partial to the M50. I agree with everyone else, pick the the one you like the best. The best advice I can offer is my experience. I started riding October of 2005 at which time I purchased a Ninja 250 while in the Motorcycle Safty Course. Last March I purchased the Ninja 500. I'm now in the process of trading the 500 in on the M50. Going through the class and see how you feel about riding.

My question is for anyone going from a sportbike to a cruiser, do you regret the change or not? I'm choosing it because I don't like the layover feel of the higher cc sportbikes.

I stepped off a Gixxer 750 of all things to the M50..I miss the power, but I don't regret it. In an ideal world I'd have both, but I really like the M

Same here my first bike was a CBR 600. I totaled that then shortly after my best friend was killed on his CBR. I put off riding for a while but just couldn't stay away. I did a lot of research on bikes and ended up getting a M50 because it is kind of a sportier cruiser. I don't regret it one bit. It is so comfortable conpared to a sportbike and I don't need to go fast to have fun. I have fun taking corners at 30mph I would have to take at 2x that speed to have fun on a sport bike. My only complaint is lack of ground clearence. If you corner agressively you will drag the pegs.
