c50 gas tank.

yup. i went on a trip a bit ago and i kept filling up at about every 100 miles to make sure that i would not run out at a bad time. ( wich is wise anywya i know, but safty first) its just annoying to guess how much gas u have

I would imagine the console for the 07 would fit on your C50 (tanks should be the same), but I don't know if the wiring harnesses would be the same given the fuel indicator differences.

Sounds to me like you're just concerned about running out of gas. All you need to know is when your blinky light comes on, you have a about gallon left and when it stays soild, there's about a 1/2 gallon left. You can confidently go 150 miles (at least) before worrying about filling up. I have gone as far as 175 miles and still didn't see the solid light (my blinky comes on at about 136 miles). I always reset my Trip A odometer at each fill and leave it in the view screen, so all I have to do is glance down to see how far till the next fill up.

Also it's important to mention when I fill my tank, I fill it only 1/2 way up the filler neck, NO FARTHER. (I know you're technically only supposed to fill it to the bottom of the filler neck.) If you fill it to the top, a lot will leak out all over when you stand it upright.

This is probably more information than you wanted, but I hope it puts you a little more at ease with how far you can go..

I don't have a C50, but, I do the exact same thing. You will learn how far you can go with the miles you have on a tank. I have had bikes in the past with gauges. To me it was no better than the light. The gauges tended to be inaccurate and I still watched my milage and I knew about how far I could go once the needle hit "E". To me, keeping track of milage and gas is just part of it all.

not yet. what was annoying was that i had only data for in town riding witch i got a good 120-150 miles out of it. so i had no way of knowing how far i could go with hwy miles only

It's a 4.1 gal tank and it took right at 4 gals to fill up. it did sputter a bit at a stop sign on the way to the gas station. I have not tried to do that again. I have hit 180 a couple of times, but choose to fill up around 165. I filled up today at 174. miles and it took 3.74 gals.

0.1 gal. about another 5 miles (maybe) and you would have had a different story to tell. WOW. I can't blame you for not trying it again. It is better to be on the safe side. Especially if you were in a mood and ridding very aggressively a lot.

2 Diff. riders can produce very diff. mileage results.
1 with a smooth conservative throttle hand and the other racing light to light.
Working your bike to produce power will reduce your miles per gal.
Your riding habits have a great effect on mileage.

So reset your trip. each gas fill, when your light first comes on, fill in 25 miles.

Twice with this Bike I have pulled into a service station with it coughing and spitting. The last time it died as I pulled up to the pumps.
And I know better!!!
