C-section and exercise?

I just had a c-section this past week (unplanned, ending a 52 non-productive labour from malpresentation) and would like to start to do light exercises other than walking. I don't have to be as worried about my abdominal muscles, as the OB elected to go in between the muscles rather than cutting them, but i'm still restricted in order to protect the rest of the affected areas.
I'm wondering what SAFE options there are. I KNOW how delicate the incision site is, and would appreciate constructive ideas to that end. Thanks
This isn't an attempt to get skinny quickly (i haven't mentioned that i already fit into some of my pre-preg clothes because i've been very careful to stay healthy and gained weight pretty much only what needed to be)

I know about the 6 week check-up...
The idea about water exercise is great... ideally i'd like stuff that or others that are really gentle like isometric exercise (no limb movement = no weight bearing = min strain on the affected tissue). I've been doing stuff like small hip squeezes and such, but would like other options of similarly
