Just a little update to ya fans of both series, Shout finally put a date for both series to come out on dvd, which will conclude the Sonic series (except for Sonic X....which isnt dic property) and second of the third volumes for the cops animated series.

You can only get them over at shout factorys website with their new program they are doing for the series that didnt do well in stores. According to their site, the preorders arent up yet, but as soon as i know anything i will post it.

They will both be out March 16, 2010.

The only downside to this is the sets will more likely gonna be $25 - 29 per set....dont quote me on this as there is no offical price.
 
Actually, Sonic X is out on DVD in its entirety through the Funimation releases. Still, AoStH volume 3 does mean every Sonic cartoon will now officially be available to own.

Now if only we can get someone to relicense the out-of-print OVA...
 
Thanks for the info. Man, I didn't expect them to release the final volume so soon. A little over a month until all of Sonic is available on DVD. Oh, my aching wallet.

Ha, Volume 3 has a green cover. I so called it.
 
I never did finish volume 2 so im going through volume 1 and 2 to get me in the mood for volume 3. I cant wait myself, hopefully this will finish more DiC releases like COPS and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego releases. Time will only tell.

The only set of dvds i dont have are Sonic X, only cause i never liked the series.
 
Really? It's been just over a year since the last volume was released. Although it did take them a year and a half to release the 2nd volume.
 
Sonic, huh? That might actually be enough to get me to make an exception to my "no spending for six months" goal I've set. I've grown fond of the hedgehog.
 
Oh, I didn't mean soon compared to the last volume, I meant compared to its announcement date. Not used to seeing a product released within such a short time frame of its announcement.
 
Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 3 on DVD exclusively at Shout! Factory's Website is not available to preorder. When will Shout! Factory start taking preorders on Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 3?

Shout Factory apparently has a few licensing deals with Fox (They put out Rhoda and Peyton Place and finished Son of the Beach, all shows owned by Fox).

If this is successful, I wonder if it would inspire Shout to acquire back the DIC shows they lost to Fox (i.e. Inspector Gadget) and finish them up properly this way.
 
It looks like the next show to be part of this program is Bump in the Night.

Shout mulled around the idea of a Bump in the Night release, but then abandoned all plans, so this is welcome.

Edit: Madeline was one of the DIC shows Shout! lost to FOX, but it appears that they're putting out the telefilm for that show in April. If Shout! has DVD rights to Madeline, one of the things I would love to see in the DTC program would be a disc with all of the Cinar specials (including the HBO one Joe Raposo wrote all the songs for.)
