Basically, I'm a former B/C student, now an A/B student. I'm in "average level" classes (college-preparatory level) and lower level classes. I have a 3.3GPA and I'm ranked in about the middle of my class. My high school is a "nationally recognized school of excellence." Past that, in my sophomore year of high school my US I teacher inspired me to pursue an education in history (i.e. pursue a major in it). I loved his class, and got straight A's in it. I opted for AP (Advanced Placement) this year; I wanted to challenge myself and have the opportunity to learn more. I've never taken any AP or honors course before. I can handle the coursework, but I'm not doing too well - I have a C+ average, which will probably drop down to a C by tomorrow. I l-o-v-e the class, though - the only reason I would consider dropping is for the sake of college.
So my question is this: If I plan on majoring in history in college, should I be considering dropping this course if I'm getting C's, and dropping down to the "normal" level? Or might staying in this course look good for college? (challenging myself?) If it matters, I don't plan on applying to any "prestigious" schools - not that I'd get in.
Also, my school recognizes this course as the hardest (or one of the hardest?) courses it offers.
