C-DIFF how long does it take?

My mum is in hospital just been diagnosed with cancer of the colon and lung, she has caught C-DIFF in there now!
Anyone know how long this disease takes to get over, they cant operate on her till she is strong enough and this c diff is making her weaker!

I'm not sure but the US CDC website says 10 days . . . "C. difficile is generally treated for 10 days with antibiotics prescribed by your healthcare provider. The drugs are effective and appear to have few side-effects."

C-Diff travels fast in weakened patients. My mother (93)was recovering from a broken hip in the hospital when she got C-Diff. Within 4 days she passed away. They could not operate, C-Diff had already perferated the bowels.
