Last week, the 8:00 Simpsons was on at 9:30, the rest of the block was skipped, and NASCAR picked right back up after the news, so hopefully we'll get at least this episode a little later in the night if anything.

If it's not baseball it's football. And if it's not football its Nascar.

FOX, I'm happy for ya that your able to broadcast all this stuff but damn if it isn't annoying how the one night of broadcast TV I look forward to weekly is either pre-empted or not shown entirely.

Well, cute couch gag.

EDIT: A pointless character death (even if it was Moleman it was uncomfortable), a stupid Ralph line, a very sad Nelson "HA HA" and a very jerk-ass Homer.

Dotcha just love The Simpsons these days? I know I do.

All right, I'll concede that Bart's Skinner prank was actually executed well, despite how unoriginal it was (didn't Freleng do that twice?) Chalmers' act break line was funny though.

I liked the animation during the "controlling Skinner's shoes" gag, though the gag itself has been used decades before in the LT short "Bugsy and Mugsy", among others, I imagine.

Something occurred to me when Skinner demanded to know who pulled the prank: Shearer's voice just doesn't have the impact it used to. Remember the end of act one for "Whacking Day"? Skinner was pretty intimidating when he said Bart was expelled. I just didn't feel the same thing here.

"Do you do it with relish?"
"No I'm kind of embarrassed about it."

First big laugh of the episode for me.

And Speedy, of course Skinner's voice sounded different way back when. That was back when everyone involved with the show actually, you know, cared about what they were doing?
