A new episode airs tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Had some funny parts but a disappointment for all the build up. I'll watch tonight to see if there is any difference between Fox and Sky Showings.

It was average, in my opinion, nowhere near as good as "Gone Maggie Gone". The first act was too long, so the main plot (although not really rushed) was over too quickly. Some good Grampa/Homer relationship stuff and a few good lines and visual gags (Colin Farrell is out of prison gag and "Ah, my son's first stroke"). As expected, a fair amount of Irish stereotyping (leprechauns, yuprechauns and more leprechauns) and obvious humour, but it wasn't that bad. Meaney wasn't bad. The Once reference was funny. Animation was brilliant once again. 2.5 or 3/5.

Saw it already as did a lot of people I'm guessing. Anyway I thought it was pretty good. A lot better than previous vacation episodes although that might not be saying much. Well let's start with the negatives. There were 2 scenes that went on for too long. One towards the end of the first act and the ending which was horrible and not funny. The plot kinda took a while to get going but if you ignore that, act 1 was hilarious at least I thought so. Act 2 and 3 are typical Jean vacation stuff. The plot wasn't the greatest but there were plenty of fun moments in this one. Aside from the two that went on too long almost every gag was successful for me. So overall it was a fun little episode and it was nice to see Homer bonding with his Dad. 4/5 from me.

So wait...Homer bonds with his father in Ireland? Didn't Family Guy already do this? ;)

Sounds like a pretty typical episode, but I'll wait til it airs to pass judgement.

The opening still aggravates me. It continues to look mechanical, like a computer is manipulating static 2D images without inbetweens.

The show itself is animated fine, as boring as it is. But the opening is still horrid.

Ok, I'll admit it. A very, very strong first act. Some good jokes, nothing cringe-worthy. I enjoyed it. But apparently it's all downhill from here, right?

The disadvantage of watching a HD show on a standard TV is that a scene like a view of Abe's list is cropped on left and right.

It said "Aggreviate my Son", right?

Too bad Family Guy already did it. ;)

Not half bad. But not half good either. The first act was still the best thing about this episode.

I'm sitting here at 8:18 watching a commercial and realizing there's another commercial break coming up before the episode even ends. Crazy. Whose idea was this??
