C & C The Simpsons " E. Pluribus Wiggum"

This is probably one of the better episodes from the shows' later seasons, not QUITE as good as such episodes as "This Little Wiggy" involving Ralph, but far better than such monstrosities as Worst Episode Ever.

I guess I used a phrase that's often used sarcastically. I do know better; there's no way they produced an entire animated show without writers. It's just that the writing was so bad that... well, you know the rest.

After 410 episodes, The Simpsons finally tries a stab at making fun of Democrats. In one scene. With padded kiddie gloves. There's yer equal time. The worst thing they can say about 'em is that they might meet in a restaurant? They put the Republicans in Dracula's castle!

And...?

The show did eventually take on its usual fairly heavy anti-Republican stance, but even before then it was a pretty bad attempt at satire. Like, the characters were just totally flat. It didn't feel authentic at all; just a really hollow spoof of the current presidential race. To me, this whole episode felt like a series of interstitials for a Fox 2008 Election Special that would be combined as a "bonus episode" on the DVDs, rather than an actual episode. It just didn't go anywhere.

By the way, if you're looking for a Simpsons jab at Democrats, you'll have to look back to season 3's "Black Widower", when Sideshow Bob says "You can't keep the Democrats out of the white house forever; and then, I'll be back on the streets, with all my criminal buddies! Ha ha ha ha ha!"

Great opening with the Middle Age storytelling for the couch gag. Unfortunately, the opening scene dragged out too long with Mr. Burns talking to the guy. I enjoyed the amusement of Homer blowing up every single fast food restaurant in Springfield's Fast Food District. Too bad they didn't have another jab at Arby's during that part. Democrat's HQ rocked which compared towards the Republican's HQ in a spooky castle. Good episode with making fun of the Presidential Primaries.

Well with Ralph being the front runner in the Simpson's universe, I wonder how many protest votes there will be for Ralph Wiggum in Tuesday's New Hampshire's primary.
