Can I say how happy I am that the bell pepper eating montage actually had Alf Clausen music and not some random pop song?

The line "I've tried everything except talking to him!" was pretty funny too.

I didn't necessarily get it, but it was funny nonetheless.

I liked this episode. It was definitely more old school than I was expecting. There was some good jokes in there, although Homer at the motel was taking it a bit too far perhaps. Also, can we go without Marge having to call in an expert to fix every single one of Homer's problems?

I'm having a hard time figuring out which plot was the main one. Homer got more time in the first act, but then the attention switched to Lisa & Bart. It was funny seeing them all in denial when Marge asked them what they were up to (so Maggie's a poker player, eh?)

And, finally, we see Sideshow Mel without his bone. Hilarious.

So, I turned on the TV when my clock said 7(I'm in the Central time zone) and I was confused as to why Family Guy was on. I then realized that I was supposed to set my clock ahead for daylight savings time. Oh well, I guess I'll just watch it on Fox.com tomorrow.

The homer plot I didn't enjoy too much, his weight has been done many times a lot better, especially with the lame cheaters spoof.

I really liked the Martin plot though, the main reason why I really enjoyed this episode. So yeah this episode was pretty good in my book.

I actually managed to catch this ep tonight. And I liked it. It's funny how the Simpsons writers can manage to have a character act out of character and yet it doesn't tick you off or confuse you...it just makes that character a little richer IMO. And I'm not just referring to Lisa here...Nelson pulling a "Columbo" was totally unexpected, yet priceless. The Homer subplot was okay I guess, (and I'm a sucker for those warm Homer/Marge moments, although some feel they been overdone) but it was pretty much outshone by Bart and Lisa. I do like the episodes that focus on them.

It's all about tone. This was a pretty good episode, but I just wish they pushed things a little further to make it seem like the story actually mattered.

The subplot was throwaway, but it did allow for a really funny moment when everyone was hiding something.

I think it was lamb.

OMG its the Happy Little Elves! Nice reference to the olden days there. And a very good episode too I especially liked the joke about Lisa being in jail.
Lisa: Do you happen to have *certain author I cannot remember the name of*
Bookkeeper: No its just bascially Danielle Steele.
Lisa: AAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

The B story was okay though every time they mentioned Bell Peppers I kept thinking of that horrible taste that they have.
