C&C Seat Review

+1 the quality and how great Chuck is to work with. Haven't been in the saddle for more than an hour or so at a time and love the way its shaped to sit comfortably against the backrest. Seems the more time on it the better its getting.

That is one sweet looking bike. The seat looks great. I have been thinking of doing my seat. There are couple of local guys trying to start a custom business. My friend had his seat done and he loves it. They have all kinds of exotic cover, stingray, ostrich etc. I may give them a look since they are hometown boys.

I have about 20,000 miles on my fastback in just about all weather conditions except snow. It is holding up great and is even more comfortable than ever. I do use sno seal to treat the leather and seal the stitching.

I purchased a C&C solo w/backrest and pillion (vinyl) from a list member recently for my 09 EGC. Have been riding it around town and to/from work. Really like the position it puts me in (lower), it makes the bike look great, and has been comfortable enough. Took the first long ride on the seat last weekend - 2 1/2 hr run to event, short break, about 55 min ride during event, lunch break the 2 1/2 hr ride back home. At the end of the event, backside was beginning to get uncomfortable, and by the time we got home, I was standing up at every stop sign and traffic light to get some relief. Called C&C (not sure which C I was talking to) to ask if the gel pad would help. He said it was mostly for vibration. I asked what could be done to make the seat more comfortable, but he said "well, it IS a low profile seat". I've seen a lot of comments from riders saying they have been able to go long distances... Am I expecting too much from a solo seat? I don't have a lot of natural padding, so I'm looking for something a little softer. He said the leather cover would be firmer than the vinyl because less stretch; said I should research the forums and then make a decision. I want a softer solo seat - which one should I look at? TIA
