C & C American Dad " Hogwarts" (10/14/07)

Personally while I found Simpsons to be disappointing (for fear of flaming I will not say what I thought about Family Guy) I found this to be one of the more enjoyable American Dad shows made latley. I liked Stan's interaction with Brett (from them meeting and choice and bonding, Stan trying to show the "miracles" of god and the end with Brett giving into Satanism) and the moral of not trying to convert someone into your religion. A moral not seen as much as in some other things. I also did like the Harry Potter based subplot. Steve is still the loosest characterized member of the family so I guess it makes sense for him (sort of) to mistake a meth lab for a wizardy class. (Good line from there too. "You're really strict. I bet you're a good character". And I thought you read these books Steve). Ending with Roger gunning down the dealers was pretty good too. So overall the hopeful standard that other ADs try to live up to comedy wise.

Roger misleading Steve into thinking a meth lab was Hogwarts... brilliant! Very funny stuff - I love how Steve just kept it up, not realizing what was up. Golden.

The main plot not as amusing, though it's easy to see why Stan has no friends. He needs someone who's his exact double in everything, and Bret came darn close.

Amused by the twist ending, though.

"Dope & Faith": 4/5.
