Bye-Bye wobble! Hello Bagger Brace! Pics!

My service manager has a stabilizer on his bagger. Has for YEARS. Says it not only will not affect warranty, it'll probably save your life one day!

In relation to your warranty issue, I can only speak in reference to my local dealer which I do part-time work for, we DO NOT void warranty over an issue like this in regards to any of these stabilizers just by having one of them on your bike.

HOWEVER, part of my seeking for the one that fit the bill for me and ALL the dynamics that go along with choosing a device to combat the nature we're discussing here was one that I thought would induce the LEAST amount of stress on the frame of my bike and NOT potentially break, crack, or fracture any metal or mounting surface where the likelihood of potentially voiding warranty would be challenged, hence I personally chose the cross-member mounted device that the Bagger Brace has in an attempt to alleviate ANY potential for such damage to possibly occur versus the side mounting devices. I personally have not witnessed nor heard of frame damage from any of these devices, but I didn't want to flirt with Murphy's Law myself, because I usually lose.

This is my own personal testimony and way of looking at it and in no way do I expect to force/persuade anyone to feel the same. Just my $.02 for whatever it's worth. But it WILL work for me.

Here is a thread that discusses alot of points regarding Stabilizers in case you've missed it:

I have a J&S jack and it rides in the "dogbone" cross memeber. I couldn't tell from UK's pics if the brace was in the "dogbone" or not. Does anyone have the brace and use this jack?

The S&S specialist who fitted my V107T reckons my 1990 Glide is the best handling dresser he has ever ridden, courtesy TrueTrack. Not bad for an 18 year old bike!

I fitted a kit (two stabilizers on a Dyna, front and rear) to my wife's bike and that also is transformed. With a Firebolt parked alongside the two Harleys we have three bikes in our household, each with three stabilizers.

There is no turning back - go do it, whatever brand you choose! Handling and your butt are more important than losing a jacking point.

Do you have to have the bike on a jack in order to properly install the stabilizer? Will installing it while on the sidestand affect the alignment? I am interested in one but do not own a motorcycle jack.

You don't need a jack. Much of the comments here about them is due to some jacks using the 'dogbone' shaped cross-member under the bike, by which to jack it up either for parking it upright or working on it. Most of these kits use that dogbone, which messes up using it for the jack. If you don't have a jack, you don't have any worries!

Most if not all these stabilizer/handling kits are easy to fit, just require fairly basic tools, some spare time, followed by a beer or two. Call a buddy round!

There are several threads on HDF on these things. One of them lists several different brands. Have a browse and you may find fitting instructions on a website or two.

The dogbone under the motorcycle is used to house the dogbone shaped portion of the Bagger Brace, HOWEVER, you can still use a jack with the Bagger Brace because the dogbone portion of the brace is flush with the dogbone portion of the bike.

Anybody that has done the stabilizer mod (any brand), was wondering if you still get the wobble over 100 MPH? Yeah I know... But was just wondering. My 99 gets nuts at around 105-110.
