It looks like that MGM is to be auctioned off and split up as it is trying to get rid of it's crippling debts. The Hollywood studio is $3.7 billion in debt. The company has over 4,000 movies in it's vast catalogue and United Artists which is headed up by Tom Cruise could go to another company.
However experts claim that the auction could only clear $1.5 billion at the most. The only film to be released by MGM this year was Fame, but could have films to be released in 2010.
Also the logo with the roaring lion could be also be given a new home as well.
What do you think? I would love MGM to stay, but how was a film company allowed to get so far in debt and is other film companies heading the same way.
