Im thinking about purchasing a used LG Chocolate phone from Verizon to use on my Revol Network. (PCS flat rate phone company in Ohio) Anyway, when I called Verizon to verify the ESN number was clean they told me they did not have it listed on file...not listed at all. Will this create a problem when I go to have this phone flashed at Revol?

Gal from verizon cust service said she did not have access to that database...which I thought was strange. Who could I call who would have access to the lost/stolen info.

I have seen only a picture of it so far and it did have the verizon logo. on the phone with Verizon again now...this rep seems with it...she is "checking with the technical dept". Ill let you know what happens. While I am on hold... what happens when a phone is stolen and someone attempts to unlock it and/or flash it with another phone carrier? Will the other phone carrier see the red flag or will they just go on there merry way and just setup the phone on their system?

All that worrying and here the seller read me the wrong number. Problem solved. Still now wondering however the fate of MY lost phone! Oh well... this phone seems good however. For 50 bucks its worth it!

Beware with calling Verizon customer care when checking a phones ESN. All they can see is whether or not a phone is attached to an account. For a more accurate response have the customer care rep put you through to the data support team.

Yes, Data support is who I ended up talking to. But now I am wondering if I should be buying this phone! Been reading reviews and everyone says how much better the 2nd generation chocolate phone is compared to the 1st. The phone I am buying is "only 1 month old replacement phone" from verizon. Do they do that? Send out older models as replacements when the gen2 model has been out for a while? I figured she would have gotten the newer model.

Im not sure either...but they are apparently the ones with access to lost/stolen info which the csr's cannot see apparently... according to the 2 csr's I spoke with.
