buying tires for '05 honda odyssey. Mechanic recommends Toyo. also looking at michelin

lx4. any opinions? I've never heard of Toyo and am apprehensive about switching from the Michelin that originally came on the vehicle.
 
I absolutely love Toyo tires!! 4 of our cars came standard with Michelins, but I always replace them with Toyos, and I'll be changing my Oddy's to Toyos soon. Toyos can be pricey, by the OE Michelins are too. I find that the Toyos handle better and the tread tends to last longer. I'd personally get the Toyos, but Michelins are very good tires as well.
 
Take a look at the tirerack site to read tire prices, reviews look at tread patterns and comments. You can shop by the amount you want to spend on a set of tires. Best of luck.
 
I just put a set of Coopers on my 05. Excellent tires. Toyo makes a good tire as well. I got a good deal at Pep Boys. I paid a little over $500 after their "buy three get one free" rebate deal. You don't need to fret about putting Michelins on it. They pretty much charge like their tires are gold plated and they suck you back into buying them because they are "original equipment".
