Buying my first car? HELP?!?

Alright, i'm looking to buy just a piece-of-crap, gets me from a to b little car to last me my senior year. I've got $1000 to spend, and i've been looking on craigslist. should i trust craigslist? can anyone else relate to me wanting just a running, shitty car with character? am i just being immature and wasting my time any money? i've been saving for awhile! all i want is a car to be my own.
 
i looked up on craiglist,it didn't help me atall
maybe you can geta honda civic in or under $1000
i totally know how you feel about having a car you can call yours

look for a beater honda accord or civic or a nissan altima or maxima

should pick up a late 80s early 90's one pretty cheap on craigslist.

Ive bought many things(and sold) off craigslist no problem just depends who you deal with
