hello everybody, I along with my brother would like to get our first cellular phone, but we have very special situation, and we would be very thankful if we get some insightful information from you guys...

situation: We don't talk a lot on phone, so what is the best way to minimize our cost?

Is there any cheap plan for students? I don't mind limitation, would be thrilled if monthly cost can get below $20, link to any program will be very helpful!!

Do we have to buy particular cell phone, if we want to pickup the option of "pay as you go" plan?

Which company's or plan will minimize our monthly cost?

Is there any deal out there that gives discount for buying two cell phones or contracts?

What are the best cell phone today for around $100?

Could long term contract cost less? Is it good idea to go for with contract that hand out free stuff?

First of all, you need to figure out which carrier you want to go with. Look at which one provides coverage where you will use the phone: where you live, work, go to school, travel, etc. Talk to friends, family, co workers, classmates, etc and find out what they have to say about their carrier and phone service. Don't assume every carrier will work everywhere because they won't. There are parts of the city I live in where Cingualr is OK and other areas where Verizon and Sprint work best.

Once you do that, then it is time to investigate phones and plans. Remember, if you don't have a signal, that cheap plan is too expensive.

If you aren't planning on making long distance calls and just plan to call within city limits or even within your state, many carriers offer local plans. Of course if you do make a long distance call or roam with you phone and make or take a call you will be charged an arm and leg.
