Was an interesting week, finally. The 2009 comes with free first year service ala duc italy....told my dealer i wanted a black one.. he promptly called duc usa and within 4 hours he was told "sold out in the usa". Needless to say i was bummed.. we talked bout waiting for the 2010 model maybe sept/oct timeframe. Later as i thought bout the short time to the DUC USA reply, i went on a full scale search taking time to call dealers personally. Believe it or not, the first one i called, in new england had exactly what i wanted... now its on its way to my dealer for delivery, no thanks to corporate duc.... i was sales person, dealer, and broker all in one... wish i could take my own commission on it too@@@...

so the lesson there is BE PERSISTANT and dont believe all you hear...

Makes one wonder if you talked to one of the people getting the ax at DUC USA... Rumor is Ducati Italy seems to be thinning the herd..

Perhaps Italy has caught on to all the U.S customers complaints re: U.S Ducati.

Or your dealer wanted to unload his inventory and thought he could sell you what he had on his floor. They don't make as much profit doing a dealer trade.

I think that when DNA says "sold out" they mean they can't take any more orders for that model. Like the "sold out" Hayden 848...all the dealers I see have at least one...sitting right next to the limited edtion sold out Desmosedicii RR! LOL

thanks guys... i did follow up with ducati usa and felt as if i were talking to a french fry technician at burger king... i hope they axe them all... as far as dealer, yea they are just that.. a dealer....but i have my cake and get to eat it too....@@@@

this sounds familiar?? I believe you are dealing with us (Ducati Seattle) in this case?

Just for clarification....
Ducati NA has no more 1198S models to sell to their dealers, this is fact.
Some dealers have them on their floors, yes fact. The last two we have sold came out of some other dealers inventory. But that does not change the fact that DNA has sold all of their inventory to dealers, hence them telling us they were sold out.
