Buying an M50

Hi, I own an S 40 and want more of a bike and love the M50. Does anyone know if I can have risers put on the bars as I am 5'4" and it is too much of a stretch. Also, my boyfriend thinks the bike looks too wide..but I love it..Any thoughts?

Do a search using risers. A lot of members have used them.

Also check with Smurf, I think he is around the same height.
But don't use the word height around him, he has been known to loose it!!!

:welcomes: Dianed. Good to have you aboard. You may also want to look in the gallery at pics of kbsnow's bike. If I remember correctly, he has put risers on it with drag bars. The M50 is a great bike. I'm not sure about your boyfriends comments about the width of the bike. Too wide in general?? Does he feel that the width would affect your handling of the bike? I assume you can sit on the bike flat footed. If you like the bike, go for it. Adjusting the handlebars may also assist in improving the reach. Risers yes several members have added risers to an M50.
Too wide? That seems like a personal comfort issue, sit on an M50 and balance it under you. How does it feel? Can you stand flat footed? It can also be lowered by as much as 3" without too much trouble.

Another idea, several forum members of shorter stature really like the S50/Intruder 800. My dauther is about 5'3" and rides the Intruder 800 with no problem what so ever.
