Hi, I'm a noob on this forum(refered to here from somebody @ notebookreview.com). and surprise surprise, i'm looking for a new phone! I've done a little bit of searching and reading reviews, but there is just WAY too much out there. so I'm hopping you guys can help narrow down the search or give me suggestions.
I will be purchasing in South Korea, using it for a year there, then bring it back to Canada. and if South Korea is anything like Hong Kong, i'll be expecting to see store walls COVERED with phones! i'd be so lost trying to find a phone.
So here are some details.
MUST HAVE:
- a good camera 1.3MP (or even 2MP)
- some kind of memory card expansion (for the quick photos i like to take)
- bluetooth connectivity (going to be using w/ my laptop bluetooth, i think i need to be able to run java on the phone to do this)
- buttons that aren't hard to push or hard to find (the tiny ones, or the flat ones are hard to press sometimes)
- good colour screen of course
- TRI-BAND! (i'll be using in South Korea and Canada, possibly Rogers wireless, maybe even Hong Kong)
- good reception of course, whats the use if there is bad reception rite?
WANTS, not must haves:
- i dont care too much for MP3 player, altho i guess its hard to fine one w/out
- GPS (apparently some phones have them now! i'm behind the times!, this is better than having MP3 capabilities!)
I think i prefer a flip phone (has the main screen that can swivel around, like the LCD on the tablet pcs), but that doesnt really matter.
I dont know what other info i can give.
here are some phones i was looking at, but of course anything else is perfectly fine. Nokia N series, Sharp 900 series, LG P7200, Panasonic VS7.
not sure how much a phone with my "must haves" would cost, but aiming for around 200USD. not sure if its realistic or not, i know phones are expensive, but in canada the fact that u get free phones, or discounts when u sign contracts really doesnt tell you how much a phone really costs...
thanks
