My girlfriend is about to purchase a new car and has narrowed it down to the 2010 Mazda 3 or the Toyota Corolla. Taking everything into consideration, which of these two cars is the overall best?

We've been to both dealerships and the price for both is right around the $15,200 mark. Is that a good price?

Corolla's a great car...well built, high fuel economy, reliable...and the styling is much improved on the previous models. But it's pretty boring to drive. Like the first answerer said, it is more or less an appliance to get you where you need to go.

If you can get over the overwrought front end styling of the '10 Mazda(exactly the opposite of the Toyota, the earlier 3's are much prettier style wise), the 3 is the more dynamic driving experience of the two.

Mazda 3 is much better in terms of overall driving satisfaction. It is quick, precise, good on gas, dependable, with great styling and interior materials.

Toyota Corolla is nothing special, just another plain car to take you from point A to point B.
