buying a bike without a title.?

I am wanting to buy this motorcycle from a guy.the guy that owns the bike now got it from a kid that worked for him but he never got the title for it and we don't know how to get the title for it. any suggestions?
 
Have the guy who is selling it to you go to the DMV and get a new title.

Do this BEFORE you buy it - otherwise, it could be stolen and then you're in trouble.
 
Dont buy it. If the guy wants the title he needs to go to DMV or have the guy he bought it from go to DMV and request a new title. Do this before you buy the bike.
 
Run the VIN number at the DMV. Find out who ownes the bike. Send a certified letter to registered owner. If it is returned un opened, place a lien on it.
 
don't get it then...
screw the bike... and get a new one with a right title...
bikes without a title... sounds dangerous in many ways...
maybe it had a criminal background... LOL
 
ask at the license branch. I know you have to have a police inspection and they run the VIN numbers but I know it can be done. You need a title to get insurance!
