first don't go to big box store like walmart or cdn tire. go to a bike shop see what they have if you spend an extra 100.00$ it's worth it for the service. at 300.00 skip the suspension fork they are crap at that price point & add un-needed weight. see if they have any of last or previous years models left you'll get them cheaper so you could possibly get a 500+$ bike for 400.00.
