Buy E61 or wait for E61i ?

I'm currently looking for a smartphone that does what I need on the road. The Nokia S60 series is an awesome series that impress me all the way. However, E61 series or the like is the way to go... atleast for me. Being the E61i is coming out in Q2 2007, beside the price, should I wait for the new one? or I should say should YOU wait for the new one? oe buy it whenever it's in the market?
 
I've had an e61 for a few months now, and I'm REALLY hoping the e61i comes down to the $400 price point pretty quickly. I'm missing not having a camera with me on a daily basis.
Besides the cam, I think the different softkeys are a huge improvement.

I'm not saying the e61 is a bad phone, but I'd wait (if you can) for the e61i if I was in your position.
 
people never put 'neither' in these polls...

do you care about the camera or the softkeys? like matt said, those will be the most noticable differences (aside from appearance). i'm not sure what the price difference will be, but if you really don't care or really do care about the camera, i'd probably let that be the deciding factor unless they're priced very similarly.
 
If you dont need a camera then buy the E61 as the prices should be insane once the E61i is released. The only real benefit I can see is the new additions to the web browser. Other than that, the E61 is a fine fine phone.

edit: I wish I could change my vote...the directional pad over the joystick is a HUGE improvement IMO....but I jsut prefer dpads over jsticks.
 
wow...less than stellar battery life is a complaint I dont hear very often. I felt like mine was just never ending. I barely noticed a difference between my N73. Have you set your phone to GSM only rather than the default GSM/UMTS? If you havent, i'm sure you know that your phone will constantly search for a 3G network half a world away and that will significantly decrease your battery life....i'm sure you know that but just making sure...I know I always forgot to switch my v3's to GSM only after FW updates and it would take a week or so to remember
