I am soon to turn 18 and I have am recieving a good amount of money. I want a good used car that is sporty and easy to mod and i found that both of these catch my eye. In your opinion, what car is better/worse? Why? What would you get? Thanks
i have read that the 05 tc rattles alot? like the trunk or something and the sunroof?

i own a tC, sunroof has never rattled on me. its the head lining around the sun roof that rattled. that was fixed with a quick trip to the dealer. the 05 did have a recall on the sunroof wind deflector shattering so if you go for the tC make sure that it was taken in for that recall. both cars are about the same power. both 2.4L engines
Accord: 160hp 161tq 6800 rpm redline
tC: 160hp 163tq 6250 rpm redline.

for the trunk, its not the trunk itself, its the paneling around it. im about to strip that out anyways.

tC to me is a better choice. and has a larger aftermarket side to it. tC has more engine builds, more turbo kits, more electronic sides to it or turboing and timing, and the storker kit to go from 2.4L to 2.7L.
up to you, i think the tC has a sporty feel to it, but i have different tires, stock tires are pretty crappy none the less. so tires will affect the handling of the tC alot. your choice, tC seems easier to mod and the Accord coupe lacks stle to me. tC has style as well as a chance to enhance that style.

I own an 08 tC and i can tell you that if you leave the sunroof in a certain spot it will rattle some over bumps.

But dont let that detur you from getting a tC over a Accourd. Scion is made by Toyota, one of the best car companies there is. Also you can buy dealship mods! Scion offers all kinds of goodies for your ride, where as Honda doesnt.

The tC is also faster if that matters at all.

well-2 things you will need to do first--if you are planning on modifying your vehicle make sure about smog laws where you live-second go and take a high speed drivers training course-so you do not wreck the darn thing-you may THINK you know how to drive-until you take this course-then you will KNOW how to drive-the Honda will be easier to modify and safer to drive in the long run..

Buy a Ford Ranger!

They are cheap and mine has been very reliable for years. Besides I thinks coupes and hatch backs are kind of lame (just my opinion though get what you want) I have put a couple 10 inch sub-woofers into mine and new door speakers and a new stereo. I got new tires and had it painted. The best thing about it though is that even used it has gone 10 years without a major repair. That's a big deal when your only 18 and the most important thin is that your car works. I don't know about Scion but I hear good things about Honda's when it comes to reliability.

Besides, there's something women like about a pick-up man.

The Accord isn't a good car to mod. Not much aftermarket support, and what it does have isn't very good. tCs get major power from turbo, and if you plan to put on turbo, go tC, you'll never look back.
