I dont often post on here but I just wanted to share my experiences with using the Buteyko method. Im not here to endorse anything or claim this technique is a miracle cure because it isnt. I also WOULD NOT use this technique if I were having an asthma attack, that's just plain silly. I use it for preventative purposes only.
I did a simple search on the net and found that someone had posted the basic excercise for FREE. So I thought to myself that as long as it sounRAB safe, i'll give it a go. Im 37 and I've had moderate asthma since I was 20. Mine is sensitive to the damp weather and what with living in the UK we have alot of
Im on Seritide and Bricanyl which I take regularly. Anyway after the first day of trying the excercise, for the first time in years I didnt wake up with shortness of breath and coughing and having to spend at least 30 minutes in getting my breathing under control. I do the excercise a few times a day and it only takes around 15 minutes and I only need to take around half the dose of Bricanyl than before. For me it has worked and i'll continue doing the exercise for as long as it helps me.
