Busted w/ Pot - No Citation

Last night, I got pulled over for speeding, cop saw our pot, made us dump it out.

FUCK YOU cop!!!! I was speeding because I had to pee like no other!

The bitch is that my girlfriend and I are so fucking broke, we saved and scrounged for this pot, then drove about 65-70 miles round trip to get it (my best friend lives there and it was a good excuse to see him)!

Tonight is our last night together for about 2.5 months. We wanted it to be special. It still will be, but it sucks to not be able to have good, harmless fun that we paid for.

It was really DANK stuff too, I wanted to take a picture. Completely purple, and super dense. I only got to smoke one bowl of it.

We were leaving Santa Cruz, CA where, by law, marijuana is the absolute lowest priority for law enforcement (below even jay-walking).

I suppose I should be happy to not get a citation, but fuck that cop.
 
Oh, man. You know how I feel about the substance, so you should be fully aware how much it pains me to read this thread.

"Dump it out." I would have told that cop to suck my dick, lol. Did you just have the bag out in the open, or what? I doubt he would have searched your ride for a speeding violation.
 
Yeah he could see the bag. He gave us a choice, dump it out or get a citation.

I just hate cops so fucking much. I don't know how long it will be before I can go to sleep without thinking about this and having my heart pound with anger and adrenalin.

It's just FUCKED UP what a cop can do to just ruin your fucking day with no justification or reason.

I've been pulled over/harassed before and never had so much as a ticket, although I was once handcuffed and detained (not fully arrested) for double homocide.
 
Must have been out in the open, but for future reference:


  • Law Enforcement Officers must have a warrant to conduct a search unless you permit them to search.
  • Refusal to consent to search is not grounds for a search, or probable cause.
  • Probable Cause might be used if they can smell the weed...which is bummer.
 
Ruin your day... because you were breaking the law? I know cops can be dicks, but you were the one in the wrong here. He simply did his job.
 
Sorry, I've been harassed repeatedly by law enforcement and never actually been "in the wrong" before although I don't disagree, I was breaking an archaic stupid law.

However this cop was a dick. He told me I was going to jail. I was carrying less than 1/8 oz of marijuana.
 
That seriously sucks. I've never been caught with pot, but I don't normally have it in my car, the boyfriend usually goes to get it and he's normally a careful enough driver to not have to worry about being pulled over.

When he pulled you over why didn't you hurry up and throw it in the glove compartment or something?
 
MAN that shit sucks! I know that I also get the most pissed off after a situation where it could have been avoided if I wasn't such a dumb ass.

Here's a pair of pro-tips that will prevent this from happening in the future:

step 1: don't break any traffic laws while carrying.
step 2: hide your fucking weed, dude.
 
I feel you. Your lucky you didn't get a citation, and he just made you dump out the weed.

I went through a similar situation before. If you try to run...police brutality is a bitch. Even after you stop resisting the beating continues. Trust me on that one.

Cops are assholes because they have to be. But some push it too far.
 
I think it's sad that you scrimp and save for pot instead of something important, and that your last day together can't be special if you can't be high.

Please, do not ever go to Germany or any other country. You'd be suprised how lenient our law enforcement is. In other places, you'd be beaten. And just because you disagree with a law, doesn't make you right. Personally, I think you should legally be able to challenge a man to duel, but that doesn't get me out of a murder charge.

In the nicest way I know how to say it, you need to realize how lucky you are. Maybe if you weren't doing fucked up shit like buying drugs, cops wouldn't harass you. Oh, well... maybe you'll straighten out.
