Busted my ass

Last night I had just started watching a movie, The Final Cut (was a pretty decent watch) when I wanted a drink.

So my hubby goes downstairs to get me one while I turn up the volume and use the potty. I decide to walk downstairs for a glass (since he brought me a can of soda) and I fucking slip down four to six stairs. (Probably because I stepped on the edge of the step and my feet were smooth)

I banged my ankle and calf and I found about four rug burns on my arms and legs. I was able to walk around and only the burns hurt after about 10 minutes of writhing in pain but this morning my whole body felt bruised. My ankle is killing me but it doesn't hurt to walk on and it feels like someone took a bat to my calf. My back end hurts when I sit down and feels like that got some of the afterlash of the bat as well.

I don't think I broke anything because I can walk around. But I might have sprained it pretty bad. It's not swollen or discolored or anything either. Its just sore.

:hug2: That has to suck...sorry for your mishap. You might have bruised your tailbone and that could be why your tail-end is sore. Hope your body gets back to normal soon.

Crikey! That sounds painful.

Now might be the time to look into getting a dumb waiter, or one of those stair chairs that you only see in movies.

Just kidding. Hope you get to feeling better.

I think I got you beat.
When I was a kid I went down some stairs on one of these

so I made it down two steps and went face first the rest of the way and bit through my lip at the bottom. Now I have a sweet scar inside my lip.

The stairs are great going down on inanimate objects. I've gone down the stairs sitting on a chair, riding a bike, riding a road sign, in a cooler... the list goes on. It's fun.

Sorry to hear about your pain though. Pain goes away. Beautiful memories last a life time. When you are healed, you will look back and think, "Heh, I totally beefed it down those stairs, didn't I?"

Hey, at least it's not a reoccuring thing. I swear I'm accident prone, sometimes..

I've:

-Run barefoot through hot ashes of a campfire.
-Jumped on a bed and fell off, causing a concussion.
-Hit a tree with a bike, knocking me out for fifteen minutes.
-Hit my head after unsuccessfully trying to tackle a boyfriend.
-Hit my head in the same spot on a headboard two days later.
-Got hit by a tuba.
-Got smacked in the face with a trumpet.
-Some guy busted my lip when he kissed me (HARD) after a movie.
-Slammed my fingers in a car door.

I hope your aches go away soon, Rae. :D

GET WELL SOON.

My first concussion (out of three so far) was due to stairs.
I was trying to jump down as many steps as I could.
I found a set that was about 12 steps which is actually bitch-far and high.
I knew it was going to hurt because the last two hurt.
I prepared myself for another jump, but what I failed to calculate was how far I needed (distance-wise) after the jump because there was a concrete wall.
Long story short, I made the jump, and barely managed to protect my face from certain doom with my hand, and hit my head against my hand on the wall and passed out.
Bad times.

I used to ride down the stairs on inflatable pool mats, and inner tubes. As for you accident prone people, I don't know what you're talking about. I've never broken a bone or had a concussion, and I don't plan on it. The worst injusry I've sustained is a sprained ankle, which happened a lot when I was dancing.

Although, now that I think about it, I have had multiple run-ins with the occasional pencil. My sister stabbed me in the hand with a pencil when I was in grade school, my friend stab-clicked my wrist with a clickie pencil in 7th grade, I stepped on a pencil a few months ago, and all have left grey pencil marks in my skin.

Okay, so my injuries aren't that bad. Feel better!

I'm glad I'm not the only clutz around here :p

I ended up with a bruised tailbone for like 2 days and my ankle still sort of hurts but is almost better and a few bruises on my leg and hip.

I might have been safer riding a laundry basket down the steps but with my luck I would have ran into the mirror at the bottom, broke it and ended up with 7 years back luck...if that's real but in my case it probably is. :)
