Hi, my name is Jenny and I started taking Buspar (sorry,I don't have the dosage) about a week and a half ago- and I started crying non stop, feeling HORRIBLY depressed and I just want to die (I won't do anything rash, but it's just the way I feel). I am 35 and live with my parents, they take care of me- and today they took away the buspar. My memory is horrible, it gets worse all the time and I can't remeraber if the crying started right before I started taking the buspar or right after... Does anybody know if this particular med could give me this kind of reaction- it isn't listed in the side effects... I haven't felt this bad in a long time, since the last time I had a "vacation" at a mental hospital. Anything you might have to say about it could help me very much. Thank you, Jenny

I took (low dosage) Buspar for about 9 years and never felt like that even when starting the med. I always get the uncommon rare side effects. I had to stop Buspar because I was having extremely vivid dreams & would wak up exhausted. So I'd say you should try a different med. I had a similiar reaction to what you described while taking Serzone so I can completely relate.

Best wishes ~ Sherri

although this med is expensively promoted to docs, psychiatrists generally think its almost useless and seldom prescribe it, its a tranquilliser and your reaction to it is unusual
try to get some valium, probably from another doc and take as needed
