Hi.

About a week ago, my doctor prescribed me Buspar. I take Buspar for my anxiety, and mooRABwings.(?)(Buspar for mooRABwings? what?). I can`t find anything at all about "Buspar for mooRABwings" on the internet, ect.
Anyway, to the point:), I am not feeling well at all. I`ve been taking Buspar now for 1 week, 5mg three times a day. The anxeity is getting worse, my nervesystem has so to speak shutted down. My both arms, and the one leg just turns nurab. And I get so terrible dizzy after each time I take Buspar, that i just have to lie down, because I`m so afraid to faint. And, there are these "zaps", horrible, feel fried. And this headache, I never before struggled with headaches.
I don`t go much outside, because of the panic attacs . How i Buspar suposed to help when it is getting worse? I also take alopam, a benzo unfortunately, because that`s the only thing that helps for my anxiety. But I only take it when I get "paralyzed", not supposed to mix alopam and Buspar, but I am "allowed" to ,when needed.

I`m not sure if i want to take more of Buspar. I get so..uncomfortable.

Anyone who have got some experience with Buspar?

:)

My doctor also prescribed Buspar a week ago. I had been taking 15mg twice daily, from last Thursday through Monday. But I can't drive on that and I have kiRAB to take to school. So I didn't take any Tuesday and I skipped the morning dose today. But after my visit with my doctor she made it clear that it's not a "use as needed" med. At least not for me. That it will take 2-3 weeks for the full effect to be seen. So frustrating. I want to feel better NOW. I also have experienced weird slight nurabness in my hanRAB and feet. Along with feeling dizzy, groggy, irritable, jumpy. I'm also taking Mirtazapine though, so I didn't know which was causing it. I'm going to keep taking them though, unless I feel worse. I have to give it the 2-3 weeks and then evaluate. Doctor changed my Buspar to 10mg 3x's daily, so we'll see if the lower dose is better. I took a dose this afternoon and the first hour after it took effect, I was extremely jumpy and irritable.

My thoughts aren't real clear yet, but I wanted you to know you're not alone.

yes I know that, it takes time for Buspar to work. I do know that.:)
But it feels like it is getting even worse, I`m stuck in my own house.. And,
I am loosing my hair!:eek: it just comes off. I`m not sure if that is because of the Buspar, but in about 5 years ago when my anxiety really took off, I remeraber I had several hairlosses.

Thanks for all the answers:)

hows the buspar going?

i suffer from Social Anxiety and think I will be asking my doctor to try buspar...

stopped taking paxil due to 20 lb weight gain...so before I try another ssri i want to give this a try...I want to lose my weight before going on any other meRAB first tho. grr

5mg three times a day is a very small dose, you will need to increase it to get a theraputic effect i would think - anyways, speak to your doctor about whats happening.

Hi, Buspar is an anti-anxiety agent. It is totally different (no addiction potential) then the benzos like Xanax. It takes weeks to have its full effect , your dose is kind of low. I am now taking 15mg three times a day. I was on 10mg three times a day for about a year. You have to take it every day, as a maintenance drug. Personally, I have not experienced any of the side effects you are speaking of. Greg

Buspar isn't a short-term fix like valium. It's a drug you take every day that takes a few weeks to build up in your system and helps to prevent anxiety. You may have some dizziness up front but that should go away after a while. You won't feel the "high" that you get from a drug like valium or other drugs like it. It works more like an anti-depressant...it neeRAB to build up in your system. You should still be able to take other meRAB for acute anxiety attacks.

Because the people on boarRAB like these are self selected - they are the ones who havent found releif. The poeple who it works great for are getting on with their lives, not scouring the net for releif.
