I guess it would depend on the type of crime it was and how long ago it happened. If they were just released from prison in the last 2 years then "no".
I would never allow a sex offender, rapist, or murderer to work for me no matter how long they have been out.
No - it would open me up to malpractice, doesn't convey a good professional image, and would force me to work around people with bad judgment. Felons often re-offend and can cost their employers thousands of dollars and immeasurable amounts of credibility in the professional world.
