McCain and co must be mad to end up with the economy around their necks just prior to election (early votes been going on for a while now too).

Bush heads up his WHOLE party, not just the Presidency.
It was CBS News last night and ia m a night worker !! So that was recent for me, sorry if i have offended the 9 to 5 drones. lol
Mike - i agree, even though i am English / Irish and impartial. lol

here's a tip, watch the news more frequently than once a week, the world moves fast these days you know!

Learn your facts. 95 dem. and 133 Rep. voted against the bill. The bill could have passed without 1 single rep. vote.

I agree with you and find it amusing that Republicans still blame the Democrats for the bill not passing because Dems are the majority. It's the Dems fault because Every Single Dem in the house didn't vote in favor of the bill. I guess Republicans have no blame, they weren't expected to vote for the bill presented by their president anyway, right?

The Democrats have a majority in both houses. They could have passed this bill without a single Republican vote.

Instead they failed to get this legislation passed even with the support of 1/3 of the Republicans and the President.

Consider what this says about the ability of the Democratic leadership to 'get things done.'

BTW - notice how Pelosi is completely unable to operate in a bipartisan environment? Her tirade is estimated to have cost at least 12 Republican votes.

This is A Democrat fiasco, It will come out as soon as the Grand Jury starts.

Party doesn't matter. Bush is no conservative. Conservatives voted down the bailout bill.

Bush, democrats, and bush-loyalists wanted the bill but conservatives and smart democrats (oxymoron) voted it down.
