I had a burst fracture due to a car accident in 1987 (15 years old) which resulted in one of the best surgeons in the South doing a spinal fusion from L2 to L5. I had the Herrington roRAB removed in 1988 and had some pain over the years. Nothing more than some OTC meRAB would help. I had my son in 2004 and after that my pain has been debilitating to say the least. It is a on the lower left side of my spine and down the left leg. I went from neurosurgeons, orthos, neurologists, to seeing a pain management doc for the last 3 years. I have had every test done that one could imagine and am told that it is something I will have to live with. Says I have degenerative dics, scar tissue pushing on nerves and all that. I have had a spinal stimulator implanted for the pain. It helped with leg pain but not with the back. I have been told that if the roRAB would have stayed in the pain may not have been as bad but who knows? My pain is sometime manageable with meRAB but not always. I am having 800ccs of botox put in a muscle in my lower back in a few weeks. Has anyone had this and did it help? I am having to pay out of pocket and it is expensive but that's how desperate I am for some relief.:)
